SYNOPSIS
A mischievous, prank loving kung fu master creates fake training for a gullible teenager who believes in fantastical myths about martial arts.
The 44th Chamber of Shaolin is a screwball martial arts comedy inspired by the Hong Kong martial arts genre, the films of Stephen Chow, shounen anime, and MTV’s Jackass.
DIRECTOR BIO
Jon Truei is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker from a quiet suburb in New Jersey where he grew up shooting movies about monsters, aliens, and kung fu.
His past directing work includes SECONDARY EDUCATION, a Japanese Tokusatsu/edutainment homage, and the Chinese sci-fi action eSports television series GAMER’S GENERATION.
He is also the fight choreographer of the silent adventure comedy feature, HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS, which premiered at Fantastic Fest 2022.
Jon’s work has been featured by Nerd Reactor, Geektyrant, Screen Anarchy, IGN, iO9, and Black Belt Magazine.
