DIRECTOR BIO
Mykhailo Bogdanov (he/him) is a filmmaker who was born and raised in the small village of Yaltushkiv, Ukraine. On his own, he immigrated to the USA in 2012 at the age of 19. Mykhailo holds a BA in Film and Television from the School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University. He also has a MS in Environmental Science from DePaul University. His most recent short documentary AVOESIS was selected to screen at the 29th Austin Film Festival.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Mykhailo met Mamadou while taking a graduate-level emotional intelligence course in early 2022. After getting to know each other, they decided to collaborate and tell a visual story about Mamadou.
