SYNOPSIS
Determined to fix their broken friendship, two best friends travel to the desert. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly erupts into chaos.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Maia Henkin started as an Off-Broadway playwright in New York, where she was a resident artist at the Drama Desk Award-Winning Flea Theatre (under Sigourney Weaver). Her work has advanced at the Sundance Episodic Lab, Austin Film Festival, the Final Draft Big Break Contest, HollyShorts, HBO's Catalyst Festival and more. She is currently in development on a TV Series with Fish Ladder (run by Chris Hardwick and Mike Clements, first look deal with AMC) and is repped by A3.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
"Little Cuts" is a female-led project that examines abuse displacement and subtle bullying that can occur in female friendships. "Little Cuts" was written and directed by myself and produced by Elise Berggreen ("Shameless"), the queer award-winning associate producer of "Bitch Ass" (SXSW).
